š Hello everyone!
Everybody holding up okay? Having recently learned that the government is in charge of what I do with my own body, Iām not doing so great! It was surprising to me that the overturning of Roe v. Wade could affect me and my general outlook so thoroughly. It felt like 2016 all over again, when I was just astounded at what had happened to our country. How is it possible that people would choose to move backward? That peopleās personal beliefs would matter more than the health and safety of women? Iām heartbroken and frustrated. But I am a woman, so I will be juuuust fine. We know how to weather the storm.
In other news, BTS has started solo projects. Iām really digging MORE by j-hope; even if you donāt love K-pop, I hope youāll give it a listen! Itās a supercool and surprising ode to old school hip-hop and alternative/grunge. If youāre into pop, check out this one, too. šš½

š¤ Eating + Drinking
There hasnāt been much cooking in our little home lately. But! We did have a quick Houston trip full of goodness!
Left side: Salmon crudo, oysters, gazpacho with crab, and peel-and-eat shrimp at GolfstrĆømmen.
Top right: we stopped at Les Baāget thanks to a tip from our friend Eric, and we were not disappointed! The beef belly banh mi was SO good.
Bottom right: Lunch at Korean Noodle House. I was SO excited to find a spot that offered mul naengmyeon, a chilled noodle soup. We also got a veggie pancake (yachaejeon) and bulgogi, which were just as delicious.
We had dinner at Squable, which was cozy and lovely. Clockwise from top left: casarecce with Sicilian pesto and pistachios, confit tuna with marinated tomatoes and sauce gribiche, roasted snapper meuniƩre with celery root puree and parsley, giant green salad, and the Hibis-kiss.
When weāre in Houston, we have to visit our friend Ryanās place, Riel. Ryan sent out the caviar tots, which were perfect bites of salty goodness. We had a watermelon and feta salad, an amazing corn soup, a crudo, and chocolate cake, and when we were full, of course he sent out what he calls ābutter burgers.ā Even the bread was juicy. š„“ Ryan ended the meal with a shot of Montenegro as usual, served in these hilarious little paper med cups. I love visiting friends in their kitchens. š
š¹ Playing
Left: I am officially addicted to this pattern game on the iPad. My friend said itās like fancy Tetrisāyou start with a black and white version of the image, then add in Tetris-style patterned blocks to fill it with color. š¤
Right: I believe I have lost 80% of my BTS Army friends to this new game, BTS Island: In the Seom. Itās really just a match 3 game, but everything is themed BTS, with tons of tiny details and inside jokes. My friends are all on level 300+, and Iām still on level 58. š
