šŸ‘‹ Hello everyone!

Happy Superbowl/day-before-Valentine’s/day-before-my-halfiversary Day! (Tomorrow will be 22 1/2 year wedding anniversary.) As expected, February is flying by. It’s already February 13, and I totally planned to send cute Valentine’s Day cards this year, so I guess that’s not happening. There’s always Easter?

Big news, friends: My friend AT gave us an air fryer. Do we have room for this appliance in our kitchen? Absolutely not. Am I already obsessed with it? Yes, of course I am. So far all I’ve made are some little frozen Korean pastries, and now I want to go to Trader Joe’s and buy all the frozen items just to cook in this thing. Which maybe isn’t the best idea, since they’re probably not as healthy as all the things I cook without an air fryer, but oh well.

What have you been up to lately? I’ve been…

šŸ„‘ Eating + Drinking

All right, Sparky, here’s the deal. I haven’t been taking many photos of my food lately… because I’ve been taking videos instead! I made my first YouTube video, just a quiet little diary of things I cook and eat and do. Early feedback is that it’s very calming, which makes me so happy.

It’s a 12-minute long video, so I don’t expect everyone to watch it, but here it is if you’re interested!

P.S. Second episode is going up later today!

šŸ“š Reading

  1. Gastro Obscura. I got this on my Kindle from the library, and it was just too fun to read and re-read, so I bought the hardback version. It’s like an encyclopedia of amazing foods and food traditions around the world.

  2. Cooking at Home. Real sentence I said while reading this book: ā€œDavid Chang makes me want to boil a chicken.ā€ šŸ˜‚ I really liked the vibe of this book—it’s not a cookbook with recipes, more like a treatise on home cooking with some fun ideas that I can’t wait to try out.

  3. The Korean Vegan Cookbook. I’ve seen this gal on Instagram, and her vibe there tends to annoy me (it’s very… serious and arty), but her recipes are awesome. I’m so excited to cook from this book!

šŸ˜‚ Laughing

That’s it! Thank you for reading—hit reply and tell me what you’re up to.
